Welcome to the Mid-Wyedean Churches Wedding page!

If you are considering having your wedding ceremony in one of our Churches the first thing we need you to do is to check whether you have a qualifying connection.  Check here to see the list of qualifying connections.

The most common qualifying connection is living in the parish.  To check which parish you live in, visit and put in your postcode.  This will tell you which Parish you are in and the Churches within the Parish.

If you live outside our Parish you will need to either call the parish office on 01594 368849 or email: for more details.

For those people living in the Mid-Wyedean Parish:

You have a choice of 5 Churches – All Saints, Newland; All Saints, Staunton; St Peter’s, Clearwell; St Saviour’s, Redbrook and The Good Shepherd, Broadwell.

To enquire about availability and making a provisional booking you will need to speak to the Parish Co-ordinator who is based at the Parish Office in Coleford:

Tel:  01594 368849 or email:

and she will be able to advise you on availability and give you more details about costs etc  and will take some basic details from you.

Once you have made a provisional booking you will be asked to come and see the vicar, Rev’d Sarah Bick, for an initial chat.  Sarah will be available on Saturday 3rd August 2019; 9.30 – 10.30am and then from the 2nd September 2019 she will be available on a Monday afternoon between 3 – 5pm for Wedding and Baptism drop-ins.  It would help us, and our diaries, tremendously if you could give us an idea of which date and what time you will be coming to see her!  During this meeting Sarah will have a chat with you both about getting married and will complete some of the necessary paperwork – you will need to bring a form of ID with you and proof of address.

After your meeting with Sarah she will confirm your date and venue and invite you to attend our one day wedding preparation course.  This is a mandatory part of wedding preparation in the Mid-Wyedean Parish and is an opportunity to meet other couples taking the same journey.  The course runs on a Saturday between 10am and 3.30am and we would ask that those of you with children organise childcare for the day.

You will then have one more visit with Sarah to discuss your individual wedding ceremony and then the wedding rehearsal, this is normally the evening before the wedding.
