Baptism

We welcome enquiries about baptism for children or for adults.

If you would like your child to be Baptised in one of our Churches:  All Saints, Newland; All Saints, Staunton; St Peter’s, Clearwell; St Saviour’s, Redbrook and The Good Shepherd, Broadwell then please contact the Parish Co-ordinator to make your initial enquiry – see details below.

We hold regular Baptism services at both the Church of the Good Shepherd, Broadwell and St Peter’s, Clearwell.  These services tend to alternate monthly between the churches but due to staffing constraints we sometimes need to change the ‘normal’ pattern.

If you would like to have your child Baptised at one of the other churches in the parish then we do our best to accommodate you within our normal service pattern, however to avoid disappointment, do please approach us in good time if you have a specific date in mind.

Our parish policy on booking a baptism is to make a provisional booking and then to come and meet the vicar, Rev’d Sarah Bick, to discuss the service.  If the commitment of a baptism doesn’t feel like what you want, then we can also offer a service of Thanksgiving for the gift of a child.

Sarah will be at our Parish office for a drop in session between 9.30 and 10.30am on Saturday 3rd August and then from Monday 2nd September she will be in the office each Monday between 3 and 5pm.  It would help us, and our diaries, tremendously if you could give us an idea of which date and what time you will be coming to see her!

Once you have seen Sarah we would confirm the date of the service and then invite you to a Baptism Preparation evening – these are held bi-monthly for parents (and God Parents if they would like to attend).

 2019 dates are as follows:

7.30pm to 9pm on: Thursday 19th September or Thursday 14th November
