Why not join us for our Churches Pilgrimage on Sunday 20th May 2018 as part of the Coleford Area Walking Festival.
Experience the spirituality to be found both in the beauty of nature and in the historic church buildings on this 8½ mile route, taking in the C of E Churches of Staunton, Redbrook Newland, Clearwell and Broadwell. Open to those of all faiths or none (and well behaved dogs!).
The ancient idea of pilgrimage is embraced by many faiths and is about spiritual exploration, but also about companionship – literally meaning ‘sharing bread with’. Companionship is an important part of our human experience – something we all need! At each stop there will be and optional 10 minutes of prayer, reflection and song, broadly Christian, but with the freedom for all to explore your own sense of spirituality. This will be led by Rev. Sarah Bick, vicar of Coleford.
Lunch is on offer from Friends of Newland Church for an additional £5 (must be pre-booked).
Meet at 9.15am at Broadwell Social Club car park for lifts to Staunton. We will leave Staunton at 9.40am. Reach Redbrook at 11am, Newland at 12.00, where there will be a lunch break, Clearwell at 2pm and finish by 4.15 pm at Broadwell.
If you fancy doing just part of the walk, contact email@example.com We have people offering lifts on an informal basis. Mark can also provide technical information about the route – distances, times and ascents.
Cost: £5, plus optional lunch for £5.
